The high-speed electric train system represents a major civilizational transformation in Egypt’s transportation sector. It serves as a new artery for development across the country, connecting existing and newly developed urban and industrial areas with high efficiency. The project significantly reduces travel time between governorates by more than half compared to current rail networks and road transport, improving overall mobility and connectivity. It also plays a crucial role in freight transportation between ports and governorates, reducing shipping time and enhancing supply chain efficiency. The first line of the high-speed electric train (Ain Sokhna – El Alamein – Matrouh – Fayoum) is one of the most important modern transport projects. It extends over 660 km, includes 22 stations, and is designed for speeds of up to 250 km/h, with a capacity of 1 million passengers per day and 8,500 tons of freight per day. The project is being implemented by a consortium of Siemens, Arab Contractors, and Orascom. It relies on high-quality materials and advanced infrastructure components, where Beshay Steel contributes by supplying reliable steel products used in strengthening structural elements, supporting durability, safety, and long-term performance of the network. This strategic project aims to connect the New Administrative Capital and newly developed cities with a modern transportation network extending from Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea coast to New Alamein City, passing through the New Administrative Capital, 6th of October City, and Borg El Arab. It reflects Egypt’s vision for a fast, safe, and sustainable transportation system for the future.
