Beshay Steel produces high-quality quicklime (Calcium Oxide) through an advanced lime calcination process, classified into three size ranges: 0 to 10 mm, 10 to 30 mm, and 30 to 80 mm, to meet various industrial and metallurgical requirements. Limestone sized 40 to 80 mm is processed in double shaft kilns using natural gas operating on a countercurrent flow principle with efficient heat recovery, ensuring high thermal efficiency and consistent product quality. The resulting quicklime typically exceeds 90 percent Calcium Oxide content with low impurities and high reactivity. In steelmaking, it plays a critical role in slag formation and impurity removal including sulfur and phosphorus improving metal cleanliness and process efficiency in EAF and ladle operations.
