Beshay Steel Business Intelligence Policy
This BSBI Policy applies to all employees and external members using the system.
The purpose of this Policy is to establish enterprise-wide standards and policies for Business Intelligence core infrastructure technologies. Establishing standards will provide guidance to agencies as they plan for new application development projects or make investments in existing applications.
Business Intelligence applications provide historical, current, and predictive perspectives of business operational data. Business operational data is typically extracted for operational data stores, transformed, and loaded into a data warehouse, although business requirements will sometimes justify working from operational data.
What is Business Intelligence:
Business Intelligence is a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information which can be used to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision making.
Its end result should be to transform the way information is used to assist the company in moving forward. Within this are included a variety of technologies, including data quality and master data management.
BSBI is applied for the following purposes:
- Measurement – creating a hierarchy of KPIs;
- Benchmarking both within and outwith the company.
- Analytics that enable optimal decision making and business knowledge discovery
including data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics and modelling.
- Data Visualization – presenting the company data to the full range of users in a clear and effective manner, enhancing data quality, decision making and knowledge.
This policy addresses BI technologies centered on Online Analytical Processing engines, data mining, modeling, and business content tools for extraction, modeling, searching, and information retrieval. No share of information is allowed. Policy could be modified without any notice.
