ESISCO is the group’s latest project and it is targeted at improving the rolling mills availability by improving the group’s back integration and maintaining the supply of raw materials. The project involves constructing a 1.76 MTPY MIDREX HDRI plant and a 1.3 MTPY SIEMENS-VAI steel melt-shop.

After commissioning, the group will be able to feed HDRI at 700°C directly to a steel melt-shop through a 40 m HOTLINK®. This means that not only will the process be energy efficient, but it will also maintain a constant supply of superior quality billets to the group’s rolling mills.
